App block surfaces
Where Studio Arcana exposes Shopify app blocks on product, cart, and footer templates.
App blocks let Shopify apps inject UI into theme templates without editing Liquid. Studio Arcana reserves named slots so reviews, upsells, and trust widgets land in predictable places.
Sales channels > Online Store > Themes > Customize > open a product, cart, or footer section > Add block > Apps
Primary surfaces
- Product buy box — under price, variants, or after Add to cart (main-product / service templates)
- Product info tabs or accordion — for long-form app content
- Cart drawer / cart page — line-item or footer app blocks when the cart section supports them
- Footer groups — newsletter, trust badges, and payment apps
How to add an app block
- Install and configure the app in Shopify Admin.
- Open Theme Editor on the template you care about (for example Default product).
- Select the section that shows Apps in Add block.
- Choose the app block, place it in the stack, and save.
Styling and conflicts
- Prefer app settings for colors when available; otherwise inherit the section color scheme.
- If two apps fight for the same slot, keep one and remove the duplicate.
- Theme Product JSON-LD can duplicate an SEO app’s Product schema — disable one source in Theme settings → SEO.
Troubleshooting
- Apps missing from Add block — the section may not declare @app; try another section or contact the app vendor.
- Block shows in editor but not live — save the theme and clear cache; password preview can hide some scripts.
- Layout shift — move heavy apps below the fold or load them only on the templates that need them.
