Page transitions
Same-origin page transitions and when Studio Arcana skips them.
Theme settings → Motion includes Default page transition (None, Fade, Curtain, Wipe up). Transitions run on same-origin navigations when motion is allowed.
Sales channels > Online Store > Themes > Customize > Theme settings > Motion > Default page transition
When transitions run
- Same storefront origin (your shop domain)
- Motion not reduced by OS or Animations off
- Default page transition is not None
- Link does not opt out with data-sa-skip-view-transition
When they skip
- External links and checkout
- New-tab / download links
- Cart drawer and in-page anchors
- Reduced motion or Animations off
Accessibility
- Content must remain usable if the transition fails or is disabled.
- Prefer Fade or None for sensitive audiences.
- Focus should land on the new page main content after navigation.
Troubleshooting
- No transition — confirm Default page transition and motion preferences.
- Flash of unstyled content — usually host CDN; hard-refresh once after publish.
- App opens in same tab without transition — expected for some app deep links.
