Typography scale
How heading and body fonts, sizes, and Character interact in Studio Arcana.
Theme settings → Typography picks heading and body font families. Character (Refined vs Bold) adjusts weight and presence without replacing your font choices.
Sales channels > Online Store > Themes > Customize > Theme settings > Typography
Fonts
- Heading font — used for section titles, product titles, and display type
- Body font — used for paragraphs, forms, and most UI labels
- Shopify font picker loads licensed fonts for the storefront; system fallbacks apply while fonts load
Scale and hierarchy
- The theme uses a consistent type scale (display → h1–h3 → body → caption).
- Section settings rarely override base sizes — prefer Theme settings for storewide changes.
- Bold Character increases heading weight; Refined keeps softer weight and shadow.
Accessibility
- Keep body text at least the theme default size for mobile readability.
- Avoid ultra-light weights for body copy on dark backgrounds.
- Do not rely on italic alone to convey meaning.
How to check it worked
- Change heading font and save — homepage hero and product titles should update.
- Change body font — descriptions and buttons labels should match.
- Toggle Character — heading weight and card shadow should shift without changing the font family.
