Theme settings: Motion

Theme settings → Motion sets how strong scroll reveals and transitions feel. Shoppers can still turn animations off, and the theme always respects the device “reduce motion” setting.

Core controls

• Motion intensity — Subtle, Standard (default), or Expressive (travel distance, duration, and easing)
• Animation duration scale — Faster / Standard / Slower / Much slower after intensity
• When scroll reveals start — how far into the viewport content must travel before fades run
• Default reveal style — fade or clip-path styles for sections with Enable motion
• Default page transition — None, Fade, Curtain, or Wipe up for same-origin navigations

Optional decorative motion

• Magnetic booking buttons — gentle pointer follow on fine pointers only
• Editorial page scroll (Lenis) — off by default; disabled for reduced motion and Animations off
• Media pulse — decorative meter under Video / Testimonials when those sections use theme default
• 3D card tilt — off by default; try Subtle on collection grids; fine pointers only

What wins when settings conflict

1. Device prefers-reduced-motion: reduce — motion off; storefront Animations toggle is locked.
2. Visitor Animations off (local preference) — decorative motion stops after reload.
3. Otherwise Motion settings apply, still limited by each section’s Enable motion checkbox.

Accessibility

• Never leave content clipped or invisible when motion is off.
• Prefer Subtle if your audience includes vestibular sensitivity.
• Test keyboard focus with motion on and off — focus rings must stay visible.

Troubleshooting

• No animation — check OS reduce motion, the floating Animations control, and the section Enable motion setting.
• Page transition missing — default must not be None, and the link must be same-origin without data-sa-skip-view-transition.
• Magnetic or tilt still moving on touch — those features are fine-pointer only by design.
