Aftercare pairing (make more money from each visit)

When you finish this guide, a service in the cart will show a top-pick aftercare product (and optional extras), so customers can add home care before checkout.

Required (do this first)

1. In Shopify admin, open Settings → Custom data → Products.
2. Create metafield Service pairing: namespace custom, key service_pairing, type List of product references. Storefront access: Read.
3. Create metafield Treatment service: namespace custom, key treatment_service, type Product reference. Storefront access: Read.
4. On each bookable service product, add tag type:service and choose aftercare products in Service pairing.
5. On each aftercare product, add tag type:aftercare and set Treatment service to the matching service.

Optional

• Build a Ritual builder section on the homepage for one-click bundles.
• Use Theme settings → Launch checklist to tick “Service-to-aftercare pairings” and “First aftercare sale path” when verified.

How to check it worked

1. Add a service product to the cart from the storefront.
2. Open the cart drawer — you should see a Top pick aftercare card.
3. If more than one product is paired, Also consider appears under the top pick.
4. Add the aftercare product, then continue to checkout.
